1 injured in Rosemont crash:
A four-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 294 in Rosemont Monday morning sent one man to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, authorities said. The crash happened at 7:22 a.m. near Balmoral Avenue, Illinois State Police said. A cause was not immediately known.
Schaumburg Democrats meet:
Raja Krishnamoorthi, the Democratic candidate for the 8th Congressional District, will be the keynote speaker at a Schaumburg Area Democrats breakfast from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 9, at Chandler’s Chophouse & Grill, 401 N. Rooney at Schaumburg GOP:
“Breaking Cullerton’s Supermajority” will be the theme of the Schaumburg Township Republican Organization’s monthly breakfast meeting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Chandler’s Chophouse & Grill, 401 N. Roselle Road in Schaumburg. Guest speakers will be newly appointed 27th District state Sen. Tom Rooney, the mayor of Rolling Meadows; 54th District state Rep. Tom Morrison; 28th District state senate candidate Mel Thillens; and 22nd District state senate candidate Tracy Smodilla. To help defray the cost of the hot breakfast buffet, the organization asks for a $13 contribution from members and an $18 contribution from nonmembers. Lyme disease fundraiser:
The Lyme Support Network hosts its eighth annual Lyme Disease Awareness Walk on Sunday, Sept. 25, at Citizens Park, Northwest Highway and Lake Zurich Road in Barrington. The fundraising event begins at 10 a.m. with an optional 2.5-mile walk commencing at 11 a.m. Registration fees are $25 for adults and $100 for families (3-6 persons). Sponsorships are also available.
