A Journey Through The Story: 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 1045 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village. Join us as we journey through “The Story,” an abridged, chronological Bible that reads like a novel. Pilgrim Fellowship: A presentation by high school youth about their summer mission trip will highlight the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday, Sept. 11, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Des Plaines. Several members of the church’s Pilgrim Fellowship youth group and chaperones spent a week at Adam’s Camp in Colorado, where they worked with developmentally challenged youth. Sept. 11 also is Rally Day, the start of the new church year, with Sunday school registration for ages preschool through eighth grade beginning at 9 a.m. An ice cream social will follow the worship service. Septemberfest: Trinity Lutheran Church, 675 E. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, will hold its annual Septemberfest from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11. “God’s Work, Our Hands” is the motto for our Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The Metro Chicago Synod has designated Sept. 11 as a day of service in the community. Septemberfest also marks the beginning of a new season of ministry at Trinity.
